Don't forget the posts and gravel boards
The panel is only part of the cost. For each panel you also need:
- A post — concrete (£25–£45) or timber (£12–£25)
- A gravel board — concrete (£18–£35) or timber (£10–£20), which keeps the panel off wet ground and extends its life
- Postcrete — roughly one to two bags per post
Which panel is best value?
Feather edge (closeboard) is the sweet spot for most gardens: stronger and longer-lasting than lap panels for a modest premium. Composite costs more upfront but never needs treating — see our composite fencing cost guide.
